Overview

These terms govern your use of the NihongoTube browser extension and website (nihongotube.app). By installing the extension or using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use NihongoTube.

Licence

NihongoTube grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the extension for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these terms. This licence is automatically revoked if you breach any of these terms.

The service

NihongoTube provides a browser extension that filters YouTube content to support Japanese language learning. The service is provided free of charge and without any guarantee of availability or continuity.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Reverse engineer or decompile the extension
  • Abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent rate limiting on our API
  • Use automated means to interact with our API outside of normal extension operation
  • Use NihongoTube for any unlawful purpose

YouTube

NihongoTube operates alongside YouTube and does not replace or replicate it. Your use of YouTube remains subject to YouTube's own terms of service and community guidelines. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.

Intellectual property

All content, branding, and code belonging to NihongoTube are the property of NihongoTube. You may not reproduce or redistribute them without permission.

No warranties

NihongoTube is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all browser versions or YouTube layouts. YouTube may change its platform at any time, which can affect extension functionality.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NihongoTube shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Updates

The extension may update automatically via your browser's extension store. These updates may add, change, or remove features. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of any revised terms.

Changes to the service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice. We may also update these terms. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
